"Choices"

I really enjoyed this poem. It brings out a realization of her decision she seemed to be consumed by her choice of creating a view of a snowy mountain but then becomes aware of the way she is changing what is or will be. The significance of the nest consumes her, she experiences a sort of appreciation for the natural way of things.

Robert Frost " Birches"

Mr. Frost seems to love analogies, along with winter settings, in this poem he seems to be saying indirectly that the rigidness of life is plastic, it can be molded and shape and changed, we think of the branches as a father figure in this poem. The boy swings on the branches, ventually changing what seemed to be impossible. What can i say Mr. Frost loves to leave it up to interpretation. He could be just going on a tangent about trees..lol

"The red wheelbarrow"

We can look at this short but sweet poem in many different viewpoints. What was Williams trying to express through this wheelbarrow? We can think of a wheel barrow as a simple yet essential object and yet "so much depends upon" this simple object. In theory one could go on a tangent about how simple yet essential things in life could be more appreciated. I know in class we discussed how this wheelbarrow becomes a decorative and artistic object but, i'm partial to this viewpoint initially. How did this poem become so renowned anyway? Because of its simple nature there is a lot of room for interpretation. Whats your interpretation?????

"Fish" by Elizabeth Bishop

When we think of this poem. we should look at the connection between nature and humankind. We can look at it even in nature's perspective. The initial feelings that arose was a sort of jealously for nature for its beauty is not realized but only through the readers mind. The writer is trying to connect with nature. She uses analogies that discuss familiar and homely objects. For me, this poem makes me think about the ignorance of nature. If it was not for the writer, the fish would receive no praise nor would it need it. This was something Bishop tried to connect with and understand. I think the poem revealed a new found understanding. The poet found beauty in something seemingly horrific. eww! A fish with scales and seaweed? seems disgusting but it possess a beauty of nature that was well deserved for admiration.
